What do the Friends do?
The Friends organise events throughout the year to raise funds for The Vale & Downland Museum & Visitor Centre. Activities include second-hand bookstalls, outings, talks and other fundraising events.
Where do the funds go?
The funds raised by the Friends go towards:
- research and design of new museum displays and exhibitions
- purchase of important artefacts which would otherwise be lost
- equipment to help with the running of the museum
What’s in it for me?
As well as helping the museum, Friends get the opportunity to:
- Learn more about the local area
- Make new friends
- Make priority bookings for trips and organised events
- Access the photographic and library collections for research (by prior arrangement)
